Paisley puts Protestantism at Risk

Paisley Puts Protestantism at Risk

Rev Ian Paisley, former moderator of the Free Presbyterian Church and leader of its political wing, the DUP, has put evangelical Protestantism under considerable threat. Presently he is actively engaged in supporting the power sharing executive at Stormont between his party and Sinn Fein, with the evident approval of the Free Presbyterian Church.

Mr Paisley was once an advocate of separation from religious and political compromise, but now encourages power sharing with a party that has neither repudiated, nor condemned the Sinn Fein oath.

This oath is available on line, and states the following:-

"I swear by Almighty God, by all Heaven, by the Holy and Blessed prayer book, of the Roman Catholic Church, by the Holy Virgin Mary Mother of God, by her bitter tears and wailing’s, by St Patrick, our Blessed and adorable Host, the Rosary to fight until we die in the field of red gore of the Saxon tyrants and murderers. Of our glorious nationality, if spared to fight until not a single trace is left to tell that the Holy soil of Ireland was trodden by these Heretics.

Also these Protestant robbers and brutes, these unbelievers of our faith, will be driven into the sea, by fire, the knife or by poison cup until we of the Catholic faith and avowed defenders of the Sinn Fein action and Principles, clear these Heretics from our lands. Age is not to be considered in our blessed deeds of extermination of Brutes who in ages past have robbed our churches. We must shed streams of blood of these tyrants to again claim our Holy places.Report to our Blessed priests regularly upon all works and business transactions.

Any cost we must work in secret, using any method of deception to gain our ends, towards the destruction of all Protestants and the advance of the Priesthood and the Catholic faith. Our Beloved Ireland has been held in chains by these cursed foreign tyrants for ages, now we can see the end of their power. We must strike at every opportunity using all methods of causing ill felling within the Protestant ranks, and in their business.

The employment of any means will be Blessed by our earthly fathers the Priests, thrice Blessed by His Holiness the Pope. Scotland must also be swept clean of their accursed beliefs by the extermination of all Masonic and all such bodies as do not accept our creed must perish, as before the days of the accursed Reformation. So shall we of the Roman Catholic Church and faith destroy with smiles and Thanksgiving to our Holy Father all who reject our beliefs. So help me God."

With such a threat hanging over those of the Reformed Faith, it is difficult to understand how such a political agreement could be seen as fair and equitable. Here is a section of Ulster society, discriminated against, under threat, openly vilified and under penalty of death, because of their religious belief. Is this an example of equality for all? Where is the parity of esteem here? Where has civil and religious liberty gone?

In any tolerant society, such incitement to hatred language must be removed from offending organisations. Such an oath must be repudiated and denounced, in the strongest terms by all right thinking people, irrespective of religious persuasion.

The Paisley Paradigm

The Paisley Paradigm

Rev Ian Paisley appears to believe that his new found religious and political paradigm would be worthy of emulation. Clearly, he has abandoned his once adopted plan of separation from religious and political compromise, and embraced the more secular based blue print of inclusivety.

In reality, the Paisley Paradigm, advocates fully devolved power sharing under the shadow of the Sinn Fein oath. This oath, available on line, states:-

So help me God."

In light of this awful oath, it is very evident that this new Paisley paradigm has omitted any consideration for those of the Reformed Faith, to live without threat in Ulster. Strikingly, there has been no condemnation or even disapproval, from the once vigilant Free Presbyterian Church, on Paisley’s paradigm, the present moderator, though an Orangeman is without objection. The shallow rhetoric of Paisleyism is less than comforting, for the persecuted and disadvantaged Protestants, who feel vulnerable and threatened under such a vile oath.

Rev Mervyn Cotton (Heb13:6)

Paisley Calls for Unity

Paisley Calls for Unity

Rev Ian Paisley appears to have moth balled his robes of evangelical Protestantism and is clothed now in the rags of compromise. He has led his church and party into deep confusion and overpowering loss by turning from past principles of the Reformed Faith, to champion unity with error.

How can ordinary, right thinking people, whether catholic, protestant, or of whatever religious persuasion, accept any form of political power sharing arrangement and equality legislation, when one particular section of society is persecuted, disadvantaged and subjected to an avowed terrorist threat.

This disadvantaged group belongs to the Reformed Faith; these people are the objects of abject hatred and murderous intent, according to the words of the Sinn Fein oath. This oath, taken from the internet, states:-

So help me God."

Now Free Presbyterianism, together with its political wing and former moderator, appears to propping up devolved government, by uniting with those that have not renounced, repudiated or condemned this heinous oath.

This long standing oath can only be viewed as bigoted, racist, murderous, intolerant, discriminatory, inhumane and barbaric in the extreme; it is nothing more than incitement to hatred. How could, anyone belonging to, associated with, or sympathetic to the Reformed Faith, be identified with any semblance of unity under the shadow of such a vile oath?

The Desolation of Free Presbyterianism

‘Your house is left unto you desolate’

These words came from the lips of God the Son, as He spoke against the scribes and Pharisees of His day in Jerusalem. The text, found in (Matt23:38), brought condemnation upon the religious establishment, which had altered the Word of God to suit its own outlook in society.

Christ saw through the religious veneer that appeared without, and He reproved the hypocrisy within. We are reminded here of God’s Word which declares that;
‘For the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. (1Sam16:7) For a long time the Pharisees had used the Word of God as a kind of cloak, which they altered to suit their particular religious framework.

Free Presbyterianism had to alter its religious robes to accommodate the church’s political wing; this alteration had to do with the doctrine of separation, which had to be tailor made to encompass the arm of flesh. The church opposed Roman Catholicism and ecumenism, while the party opposed Republicanism and tottering unionism. It was a good show, but that was all it was; by and by the mind set changed, their word was no longer their bond; the robes of Righteousness were swiftly replaced with the rags of self righteousness.

Now Free Presbyterianism, inextricably linked to political power sharing with terrorism, finds itself desolate of spiritual strength and moral rectitude. No protests now against secular equality, no opposition against religious terrorist organisations, no separation from compromise; what utter desolation, at a time when God’s people are vulnerable, as the secular humanist armies are being mobilised.

Paisley's Actions Plague Protestantism

For years, Rev Ian Paisley’s voice spoke up for Biblical Protestantism, both spiritually and politically, at home and abroad. He claimed to be the voice of evangelical Protestantism as he thundered against apostasy, ecumenism, republicanism and Romanism.

There is nothing wrong when a Christian is found earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints; so in this regard, Ian Paisley senior had that right, which has been generally accepted.

However, when he entered into power sharing with unrepentant terrorists, a plague of darkest hue was poured upon Protestantism. This plague has made his church desolate and has discredited his party; the plague belongs to the secular humanist virus, which of late is something of a spiritual pandemic.

Evangelical Protestantism in Ulster has been subjected to this most virulent and contagious of all plagues; there needs to be a rapid separation from all areas where this disease is found.

‘Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach’. (Heb13:13)

Free Presbyterian Sellout

Free Presbyterian Sell-out

Recently, two Free Presbyterian ministers went to the media to voice their support for a fully functional devolved power sharing executive. Evidently, they see no harm in sharing power with those, whose organisations murdered their way into politics. Once, these church ministers, preached against dialogue and power sharing with terrorist organisations; in the past, both of them avowed themselves to be Protestants, of the highest rank, and would have no association, with, what they called ‘Rome Rule’.

These Free Presbyterian ministers participated in protests and rallies, which condemned any breach of their view of separation, whether in church or in state; they were scathing in their attacks on what they called ‘Romanisers, Ecumenists and Apostates’. Now, it appears that they have sold their protestant birth right for a mess of political pottage.

There is something fundamentally wrong, when these two very prominent Free Presbyterian ministers are urging their political party to complete the St Andrews agreement, while at the same time, claiming to hold the moral high ground on scriptural separation.

Once highly held scriptural principles, have been sold down the dirty waters of the political river, by two men, who once claimed themselves, to be, ‘separated unto the gospel’. It appears that, Revs, McCrea and Paisley senior, have put party politics first, and sold off the scriptural gold of separation from the temple of Free Presbyterianism.

Free Presbyterianism Sitting On The Fence Of Compromise

Free Presbyterianism Sitting On the Fence of Compromise

Recently, two very colourful birds of prey, have publicly taken their perch on the fence of compromise; in perfect harmony they are sounding out the anthem of compromise to the tune of betrayal. These song birds have evidently changed their tune; in times past they sang from the hymn sheet of scriptural separation, now they have forgotten that song, and replaced it with a political piece, entitled, ‘don’t do as I do, but do as I say’.

Revs, Paisley senior and McCrea, with others, have torn Free Presbyterianism away from its scriptural roots of separation and carried it to the place of political and spiritual compromise; on the one hand, they preached separation, while on the other, they have advocated compromise. Maybe, Free Presbyterianism has found no difficulty on the comfortable perch of compromise, from the signing of the Belfast agreement until now; but when the winds of decision begin to blow through the ranks of God’s people in Ulster, it could find itself unseated.

Free Presbyterianism Left Speechless.

Free Presbyterianism Left Speechless.

After preaching separation for decades, the Free Presbyterian message has altered drastically; the message now appears to be one of compromise and silent acceptance.

Many free Presbyterians would have been familiar with the sort of message that condemned integration of various denominations in what was commonly called ecumenical apostasy. There was a plethora of messages over the years, for people to come out of, what Free Presbyterians called apostate churches, and not to fellowship with error of any kind.

Free Presbyterianism claimed to be the voice of Protestantism, as its ministers and moderator opposed Roman Catholicism and ecumenism down through Ulster’s troubled past. Protests were arranged against anything or anyone that was non compliant with the Free Presbyterian principles. Opposition was arranged against integrated education and independent Christian schools were established, so that Free Presbyterian children would not be exposed to a worldly curriculum.

When the political wing of Free Presbyterianism signed up to the St Andrews Agreement, the church stood in abject silence, as law breakers and murderers walked free; there were no protests, there was no voice of opposition from its pulpits, to condemn this great travesty of justice when the guilty went free and the victims were plunged into despair. When law breakers took their seats on the legislative assembly, the Free Presbyterian Church remained silent.

Silence prevailed, even when the power sharing executive was established; lawbreakers stepped into their ministerial offices along with a Free Presbyterian minister; the silence was only broken by laughter, as the Free Presbyterian minister fellowshipped with his criminal friends.

Today, the news papers report that the Free Presbyterian minister is actively engaged in persuading his political colleagues to accept full devolution without delay. Free Presbyterianism is silent in the face of spiritual and political compromise, and systematic destruction of Protestantism in Ulster.

Free Presbyterianism Blown Onto The Rocks

Free Presbyterianism Blown Onto The Rocks

The separatist flag ship ‘Paisley’ has been drifting off course for some considerable time now, and is presently on the rocks, being wrecked by the waves of compromise...

Ever since this vessel accepted the unstable cargo of politics, it lost its certificate of seaworthiness. Major refurbishment work was carried out and the vessel was turned into a catamaran, a twin hulled vessel, custom built to accommodate the Free Presbyterians and the DUP. Captain Paisley took the helm and sought to navigate, both national and international waters.

‘When the south wind blew softly’ the ships company sailed on, passing many warning signs which God’s Word had placed along the voyage; the cries of uneasy passengers and crew went unheeded; when the officer class began to show concern they were charged with mutiny and summarily cast overboard. The captain’s word was sovereign, none could question, obedience was demanded and none dared to oppose the captain’s command.

As sailing was getting very difficult, cabin staff on each of the hulls were finding it hard to cope with the anxious passengers; at such times the captains voice sounded and all was proclaimed to be well. As the catamaran neared St Andrews, the mood on board was far from calm; the storm clouds had been gathering thick and fast, darkness had settled and the captain had apparently fallen asleep.

Such was the tempest at St Andrews that the ships tackling and rigging of scriptural principles were thrown overboard; the sails of separation were torn apart and the ropes of prayer were cut asunder. When the good ship Paisley drifted to the quick sands of the power sharing executive there was panic on board, some of the crew decided to abandon ship, but were kept back by the captain’s voice which howled above the storm.

Captain Paisley had the anchors cast, no distress flares were permitted, no one was allowed to leave, and the vessel was left to the mercy of the storm. Under cover of darkness the captain lowered the life boat, climbed aboard himself and abandoned the stricken vessel.

With their captain gone, the ships company elected a captain over the Free Presbyterian hull and one over the DUP hull; this has proved to be disastrous as there is only one helm. Then with the anchors lifted and the two captains shouting contradictory orders the ragged vessel has been drifting rudderless towards the rocks of failure. Both captains are at a loss to keep their passengers and crew aboard as the present gale of treachery dashes the stricken vessel on the rocks.
