Paisley's Actions Plague Protestantism

For years, Rev Ian Paisley’s voice spoke up for Biblical Protestantism, both spiritually and politically, at home and abroad. He claimed to be the voice of evangelical Protestantism as he thundered against apostasy, ecumenism, republicanism and Romanism.


There is nothing wrong when a Christian is found earnestly contending for the faith once delivered to the saints; so in this regard, Ian Paisley senior had that right, which has been generally accepted.


However, when he entered into power sharing with unrepentant terrorists, a plague of darkest hue was poured upon Protestantism. This plague has made his church desolate and has discredited his party; the plague belongs to the secular humanist virus, which of late is something of a spiritual pandemic.


Evangelical Protestantism in Ulster has been subjected to this most virulent and contagious of all plagues; there needs to be a rapid separation from all areas where this disease is found.
